Sam Rockwell Joins The Long List Of People Who’ve Dropped An F-Bomb Live On ‘SNL’

It happened on SNL to Jenny Slate (“You stood up for yourself and I f*cking love you for that”). It happened to Charles Rocket (“It’s the first time I’ve ever been shot in my life. I’d like to know who the f*ck did it”). It happened to Kristen Stewart (“We’ve got a great show, and I totally care that I’m here because it’s the coolest f*cking thing ever”). And now it’s happened to Sam Rockwell.

During the first post-monologue sketch of tonight’s episode, the Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri star (and recent Golden Globe winner) accidentally dropped an F-bomb. The sketch itself, a parody of PBS education shows called The Science Room with Mr. Science, was entertaining, but it’s being overshadowed by an overzealous Rockwell scolding Cecily Strong and Mikey Day for being “this f*cking stupid.” The slip was apparently bleeped on the west coast, according to TV MoJoe, who added that NBC won’t be fined because “the regulation-loathing [Federal Communications Commission chairman Ajit Pai] shouldn’t be enforcing outdated rules. Broadcast TV is no longer unique or pervasive. Let the market decide what airs on TV.” Interestingly, Colin Jost’s “sh*thole,” a word that the president used to describe “Haiti, El Salvador, and African countries,” was also censored.

Meanwhile, the best “f*ck” in SNL history is still Prince’s “f*ckin’ bore.”
