Dancing Your Way To Love

Online dating and ballroom dancing are opposite sides of the same coin – two terrific ways for today’s active singles to meet new people. While online dating can put you in touch with lots of other singles, ballroom dancing really puts you in touch with other singles.

Both ballroom dancing and online dating are highly popular activities for people of all ages. In the Arthur Murray Dance Studios throughout America and the world, thousands of singles meet, dance, relax and enjoy dancing every single day of the week. Savvy singles know that ballroom dance lessons are an easy, low-pressure way to meet many potential dance partners. Chances are, if someone is at a dance studio it’s because they want to meet new people, enjoy dancing and music and prefer an active lifestyle.

Another benefit of ballroom dancing for active singles is confidence. Going to singles dances is not easy if you don't know how to dance or are uncomfortable going onto the dance floor. But if you know how to dance to a wide range of music, and have the confidence that comes with practice and knowledge, a singles dance becomes a completely different experience.

Here’s another benefit. Singles who take up ballroom dance lessons as a hobby almost always chose to spend a lot of their free time dancing. Groups of friends evolve in the dance studios and when their lessons are done, they often go out for a night of – what else? - dancing. So suddenly, going to a singles dance is as natural as going out any other night of the week.

Singles who are comfortable on the dance floor are also very attractive to potential dates as well. After all, who doesn't want to be partnered with a woman or man who glides across the dance floor?

Knowing how to dance makes life easier for any single person, at a dance, on a vacation or any other instance where social dancing is part of the event. Weddings, cruises, business dinners, charitable functions, are just a few times in a single person’s life where being able to dance can add more fun to the occasion.

Here’s a tip for the guys: women adore a man who is confident and capable on the dance floor. It’s a dream come true for any woman to discover that the man she is interested in can also sweep her off her feet on the dance floor. Say it’s old-fashioned and sexist all you want, the fact remains that knowing how to dance gives men an edge over the competition.

Knowing how to dance also makes you a better partner on the dance floor and in a relationship. How? A good dancer is in tune with his or her partner. She goes left, he goes right, he moves forward, she takes a step back. If you see your partner is about to bump another couple, you steer her away from danger. A couple who has learned to dance together moves as a team on the dance floor and in everyday life.

Singles who are busy in chat rooms and posting and editing their profiles online can only stay digital for so long. You've got to get out of the chat rooms and into the real world. How much easier it is to get to know someone on the dance floor than it is staring at each other over a dinner! Awkward silences just aren't part of a night of dancing. If the date is a success, you've found true love. If not, you've had a night of dancing – something you'd do anyway, just with a different partner. There’s a limit to how many cappuccinos or apple martinis you want to drink - but no limit to the fun that you and your date can have spending an evening dancing.

And if all of that weren't enough – consider this: once you've finally found your soul mate, you may start making plans for a happy future together. Usually that includes marriage – and that means a wedding. What is more romantic than a couple waltzing elegantly into a new life together, for their first dance at their wedding?
