If you like a bi girl and you are a straight guy, how do you let her know without scaring her off?

Dear Straight & Scared,
If she’s bi, I see no reason why a straight guy’s attentions would scare her off. Of course, if she’s currently involved with another girl, she may not be available. If that is the case, you should respect that relationship. Do not approach her in a way that suggests you’re trying to "convert" her to a strict heterosexual lifestyle. By the same token, don't assume that her bi-sexuality means she’s open to juggling two lovers, one of each gender. Those of us who are strictly gay or straight may make the mistake of thinking a bi-sexual is less likely to be involved in an exclusive relationship, but that’s not necessarily the case. My advice is to approach her the same way you would approach a straight girl. If she does have a girlfriend and she’s not interested in a relationship with a guy at this time, respect that and let it be. Don't bang your head against the wall trying to figure out how to compete with a rival of another gender. The simple fact of the matter is you can't.
