Is a Valentine card appropriate after one date?
Dear Brenda,
I just met someone online and we met personally for the first time. It was good for me and she agreed to meet again. Is it inappropriate to send a valentine this early? - TrueL
Dear TrueL,
If you see potential in this new relationship, then definitely send a card.
I assume you say send because you won't be seeing her in person before then?
If you're going to see her before again Valentine's Day then bring a card with you. There are some really beautiful and elegant cards at the higher-end paper and card shops at the local mall. If you want to add a nice touch, you can stop in at a chocolate shop and bring her a sweet. Godiva sells tiny gold boxes of chocolates that are so nicely wrapped, she'll want to save the box. This is perfect because it says "I really like you, I'm interested in you romantically, I wanted you to feel special on Valentine's Day, but I didn't go overboard because I'm a nice, normal guy who doesn't rush in to romance like a madman."
But then again, you don't need a fancy holiday to give a woman a tiny gold box of chocolates. If you aren't seeing her until the week after, then you can always say that they're to celebrate President's Day.
