Online dating - code word: Curvy
Dear Brenda,
I often see women who call themselves "curvy" on their online profiles. I would like to know what exactly is a curvy woman? Is a curvy woman a BBW, large or bulky? Or is a curvy woman a busty woman? - ARcline2
Dear ARcline2,
You really can't go for a one-for-all meaning.
* Some women will call themselves curvy when they're very overweight.
* Some women will mean they're not overweight but not thin - they just have curves like most women.
* Some women will call themselves curvy if they're large chested, small waisted with either large or small hips. You can have an hourglass figure when you're small as well as large.
It all boils down to how they perceive themselves and whether or not they're honest.
Curvy as a description (to me) means = not stick thin. I've heard size 2 models and actresses describe themselves as being curvy or having 'booty'. I suppose in their case it sounds more feminine to say so, or perhaps they're realizing that it's more desireable to resemble a healthy J.Lo type than underweight Kate Moss. I've heard plenty of women who are overweight describe themselves more as rubenesque rather than curvy.
But bottom line, every woman I've ever seen in my life is curvy. I just wish more women knew just how much men love sexy curves on a woman.
