Spice Up Your Lovelife in the Kitchen!

Date.com recently hosted a romantic singles contest for Valentine's Day. We asked Los Angeles members to enter our Dinner and No Movie Contest, where we selected 20 lucky bachelors and 20 bachelorettes with the best romantic cooking stories, and sent them to a fun cooking class with Cleo in the kitchen, where we whipped up romantic appetizers and sizzling chemistry in Santa Monica on Thursday, Feb.13th. Prizes and raffles were awarded through out the evening.

Cleo, a sophisticated Italian chef with the skills for combining hot recipes for hot dates, hosts a weekly gathering where singles talk about their views on dating and cooking, in and out of the kitchen. Those who attend slice and dice, and make that food/love connection!

One happy couple who passed our 'most sizzling chemistry' test made a love connection in the class and were treated to a lovely Valentine's Day dinner at a romantic local restaurant, courtesy of Cleo, and were asked to call into her popular Saturday afternoon radio show, Dinner and no movie, a weekly national talk radio show on CRN1 cable radio network based in Los Angeles, on Feb. 15th, for a kiss and tell about love, chemistry, cooking.

I've been to singles events before, but I have to say that this was the most fun I'd had at a singles party for quite a while. When I arrived, everyone was already mingling, laughing, and drinking wine. I could smell the garlic sizzling on the stove. Cleo and her helpers were chopping peppers, washing lettuce, and roasting pine nuts. Everyone was happy. It was a great looking crowd as well.

We chatted over a scrumptious salad, delicious penne pasta, and a delectable dark chocolate cake for dessert. I can see why Cleo's classes are so successful, because she has a special way of making everyone feel welcome, comfortable and need I add, well fed. She handed out little heart shaped dinner invite cards. She gave everyone a cool cooking gadget or yummy scented candle, which are handmade by her friend Ari, a psychic and astrologer.

At the end of the evening, we all took a vote to see who had the most chemistry, and Bryan and Christina were the lucky winners for the Valentine's Day dinner for two. They made a very cute couple, and when I called into Cleo's radio show on the following Saturday, I found out that not only did these two truly enjoy their romantic dinner, but they stayed up talking until sunrise, and plan on seeing each other again. Maybe you can find magic in the kitchen!

See you in the kitchen
