RELATIONSHIP ADVICE - ASK BRIAN

Men only want my money

Dear Brian,
I'm 21, black and British, black hair, 6' 2", brown eyes, and really cute. I don't know why people are treating me badly, Brian. I have been bisexual since I came down to Dublin about 7 years ago and have been with some of my mates in my area, but the two I love the best only want to sleep with me because of my money and my car. Last night, I asked one of them to please come and stay with me and he told me I have to pay him 50 euros first, and this same guy steals from me whenever he comes to my house. I don't know what to do with him because I love him so much. I can't eat or do anything for myself now. Please help me. I'm in big trouble.
- dellyo

Dear dellyo,
Is it possible that the mates you love are straight? If that's the case, it's not surprising that they demand money in exchange for sex and sleepovers. They may even be professional hustlers, in which case money could be their only motive for having sex with you or any other man. Whether professional or not, anyone who comes to your house and steals from you is not worthy of your friendship, let alone your love. You need to meet new mates, and when you do, downplay your financial status if it dwarfs their own. Money attracts all sorts of people with little or no character. There are a lot of men out there who will gladly have sex with you in return for cash, but that's a business arrangement, not a romantic relationship, and it has the potential to turn ugly if the money doesn't flow from you as freely as they wish. You'll be left with a broken heart, and maybe even a broken nose or worse if you get too involved with such a low-life. You need to change your strategy. Cultivate new friendships at new places, and make sure a man is gay or bi before you let him steal your heart. And dump these mates you have now. These guys don't sound too appealing to me. They sound like selfish opportunists who'll take your money and leave you when there's nothing left in your bank account to pillage.
